The anti-aging benefits of Vitamin A are amazing- it helps give skin a boost in collagen production and firmness and can actually help reverse sun damage (photoaging). So I wanted to find a product that combats eye puffiness, dark circles and eye wrinkles that contain this ingredient.
Out of the large bunch of products, an affordable over-the-counter eye wrinkle cream that contains Retinol (a form of Vitamin A) is RoC® Retinol MultiCorrexion® Eye Cream.
The RoC website explains that this cream is formulated for the sensitive and delicate eye area, and works to “visibly reduces wrinkles and crow’s feet in 12 weeks. In addition, it evens out dark circles and reduces eye puffiness in as little as 4 weeks.” Its active ingredients include Retinol (Vitamin A), Ascrobic Acid (Vitamin C), and a mineral complex of magnesium, zinc and copper. In addition, it is hypoallergenic and oil-free.
On totalbeauty.com the RoC Retinol Correxion Eye Cream received a 7.8 out of 10 rating. Out of the majority of reviews I could find, most are positive, with many customers saying the product works with consistent application over time. The cream is described as gentle, effective and affordable. Out of the negative reviews, it says the product is heavy and doesn’t absorb quickly, and a few customers commented that they saw no difference at all.
So tell me, have you used any RoC Retinol products? I would love to hear what you have to say about this over-the-counter product which more and more people are depending on cheaper solutions during the economy

Product Review: Shiseido Benefiance NutriPerfect Eye Cream

The Shiseido skin care line just recently released a complete eye skin care treatment called Benefiance NutriPerfect Eye Serum. This eye cream was created to address the hormonal changes in women related to aging. As we age, many different hormones in our bodies change which causes the visible signs of aging. This is often called the hormone theory of aging. Commonly, less oil is secreted and women experience dryer skin.
With dryer skin come eye wrinkles.
Shiseido skin care has a NutriPerfect Eye Serum formulated with Carnosine DP, this serum improves eye wrinkles and the loss of firmness (reduction of collagen production) that the skin so often experiences due to aging. Carnosine, often called a longevity nutrient, is the anti-aging and anti-oxidant dipeptide that provokes cellular rejuvenation.
This shiseido skin care eye serum also contains multi-vitamin BCE which is a nutritive supplement especially improving the skin around the eyes.

Olay Definity is another great Olay eye product! I just love this stuff. I keep writing about it because not only do I love it, most of the people I talk to end up trying their new Olay eye products and find themselves being a lover of the new Olay anti aging phenomenon.
Olay Definity eye cream is great for eye wrinkles and dark circles, yet still helps baggy eyes. And as with all Olay eye products, Olay definity is dermatologist and opthamologist tested, promising no irritation around the eyes.
What Olay Definity Does:
Olay Definity penetrates the skin’s surface layers, hydrating and firming skin’s outer layers. It leaves the skin around the eyes brightened and illuminated.
Don’t bother leaving the house to run yet another errand! You can get it right now for $10 bucks!

Product Review: Avon Anew Ultimate

Avon Anew Ultimate
Sirtuin is the latest buzz word in the beauty business, and Avon is using the sirtuin technology in its Anew Ultimate line to repair age-damaged skin cells.
Avon has developed a product line called Anew Ultimate that uses “pro-sirtuin TX technology”, which claims to “repair advanced signs of aging and restore youth and vitality to the skin.” This line is specifically formulated for those that have deep eye wrinkles, sagging skin, age spots, and other advanced signs of aging skin. It consists of five products: Anew Ultimate Contouring Eye System, Age Repair Day Cream, Age Repair Night Cream, Age Repair Elixir and Elixir Premium.
While the sirtuin technology isn’t explained, Avon’s website states that a consumer-perception study reported skin feeling more “elastic, with natural volume and bounce” in “just three days”. Avon also reports that ”dark age spots begin to fade” and “the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles diminishes” in “just four weeks”, according to a dermatologist-supervised clinical study.
I researched reviews of the Age Repair Night Cream, and it seems like the majority of the reviews were relatively positive. Many reported that over time, the night cream helped to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and improve skin tone and texture. The biggest complaint was the smell, which was described as a “nauseating odor” and “overwhelming.” I also read a few reviews from customers with sensitive skin who complained of a slight burning sensation.
Product Review: Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Advanced Time Complex

I’m a fan of Elizabeth Arden anti aging products, especially the ones formulated to combat eye wrinkles. The Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Advanced Complex Caps are single application capsules containing antioxidant vitamins A and E to repair free radical damage, strengthen resistance against eye wrinkles and improve the skin’s texture.
My three favorite things about this product are:
1. The single application capsules are more hygienic than jars of eye creams, which tend to accumulate germs from fingers. They also ensure that you’re not using too much of the product in one application, so the product will last longer. There are 60 capsules in each package, and they should be used daily. So, one package should last two months.
2. These are pure anti aging ingredients. The capsules don’t contain any preservatives or fragrance.
3. The capsules moisturize very well without being oily or greasy. After it absorbs, the skin feels smoother and softer.
This is a great product to use during the winter to hydrate the dry skin around your eyes and reduce the appearance of eye wrinkles. Have you tried this product?

Product Review: Kinerase Intensive Eye Cream

Courteney Cox has remarkably flawless skin, especially for a woman in her 40s. Her lack of eye wrinkles amazes me. So, when I found out that she’s a spokesperson for Kinerase®, I decided to do some research on its anti eye wrinkle product, Kinerase Intensive Eye Cream.
The primary ingredient in Kinerase cream is kinetin, a plant-based hormone derivative that promotes cell division and growth. According to the official Kinerase website, “kinetin is the substance that actually prevents plant leaves from drying out and withering.” Kinetin is also naturally produced in our bodies as an antioxidant to protect against free radicals that cause eye wrinkles and other signs of aging. Another active ingredient in Kinerase Intensive Eye Cream is soluble collagen. Collagen is basically the glue that holds skin cells together, and it’s responsible for keeping skin firm and wrinkle-free. We lose collagen as we age, so applying synthetic collagen cream directly to the skin helps to replenish the collagen supply and strengthen the skin.
Kinerase Intensive Eye Cream was voted Best of Sephora in 2007 and 2008. If you have used this product, has it reduced your eye wrinkles?
Product Review: DDF Skin Care Protective Eye Cream

I found a great protective eye cream from DDF Skin Care that is formulated to reduce free radical damage – and those free radicals are the number one cause of aging. Because of that, we need to do whatever possible to prohibit those free radicals from wreaking havok on our healthy cells.
The DDF Skin Care product line has an eye cream that works well on puffy eyes and eye wrinkles.
DDF Protective Eye Cream containing ingredients such as CoQ10 and essential fatty acids, is a lightweight daytime eye cream and it also uses an SPF of 15 to help protect against further sun damage, fighting those free radicals once again! (Sun exposure will bring on free radical damage for sure!)
There are many people who tell me they have very sensitive eyes, well let me tell you this - ddf skin care cream is great for sensitive skin – it goes on smooth and won’t irritate.
DDF Skin Care (Doctor’s Dermatological Formula) is the first therapeutic skin care line to blend a traditional dermatological-based approach to skin care with holistic objectives – marine, herbology and botanicals. DDF offers a very comprehensive range of preventative and restorative skin care solutions basically anywhere you could get, without a prescription.

Product Review: Origins Youthtopia Age-Correcting Serum

Shape Magazine recently listed three wrinkle creams as the latest, most innovative products to combat eye wrinkles and other fine lines. One of these products is Estee Lauder Time Zone Line and Wrinkle Reducing Creme, which I discussed in my previous post. Another one of these new wrinkle creams is:
Origins Youthtopia Age-Correcting Serum with Rhodiola ($50; origins.com)
This herb, Rhodiola rosea, is described on Origins’ website as being able to “prolong skin’s youthspan” and repair damaged skin cells. Rhodiola rosea is known for being highly adaptive and able to survive in very harsh conditions. Origins uses this herb in their formula to give skin the ability to recover from damage and bounce back to its youthfulness.

Origins Youthtopia Age-Correcting Serum
According to the Shape article, this serum contains “an herb that helps make skin more resilient to environmental stressors.”
Product Review: Dermalogica Intensive Eye Repair

If you have dry skin, you need to be particularly careful when choosing an eye wrinkle cream. For example, many eye wrinkle creams contain retinol, a form of vitamin A that is highly effective for reducing eye wrinkles, but it is very potent and has a tendency to irritate sensitive skin. People with dry skin can use eye wrinkle creams containing retinol, but I recommend only using those creams once or twice a week to prevent over-drying.
For daily use, look for an eye wrinkle cream with vitamins C and E, which are tolerable for all skin types. Both vitamins are powerful antioxidants that protect the skin from the free radicals that cause eye wrinkles and other signs of aging. Vitamin C stimulates the skin’s collagen production and helps strengthen the skin around the eyes, and vitamin E is a great moisturizer with healing properties.
An excellent do-it-all eye wrinkle cream for drier skin is Dermalogica’s Intensive Eye Repair Cream.
It contains both vitamins C and E, plus green tea, which is rich in antioxidants and is also said to protect against some sun exposure. To combat dry skin, this eye wrinkle cream uses panthenol, a moisturizer and humectant that hydrates the skin and improves the skin’s moisture retention. It also reduces under eye puffiness with arnica, cucumber and butcherbroom, which all decrease inflammation in the skin.
This Dermalogica eye cream is also effective for normal and combination skin, but I don’t recommend it for oily skin. In that case, daily use of an eye wrinkle cream with retinol is your best bet.
