3 Ingredients to Look for in Eye Wrinkle Creams

Trying to find the right eye wrinkle cream can be a tough task. Trying to find the perfect eye cream with the right ingredients is an entirely different matter. How can you know the right ingredients to search for? Here are 3 proven ingredients that work to firm your skin, improve the appearance of wrinkles, eliminate puffy eyes and keep your skin hydrated, healthy and youthful!
1. Cynergy TK: To be short, this ingredient helps replace keratin in your skin. Keratin, in turn, works to replace the collagen and elastin that is lost in your skin. You may be asking, “What is keratin in the first place?” Keratin is a protein that is very tough and strong. It’s found in places like your hair, nails and on the surface of your skin. Keratin ensures our skin is able to regenerate itself. Studies have shown that within 3 weeks, wrinkles are improved, fine lines are reduced and facial sagging improves. This is one ingredient you want to have in your eye cream!
2. Phytessence Wakame: This natural ingredient is actually derived from kelp, a type of seaweed or sea algae, found in and around Japan. Although this kelp is normally consumed, it has been found that this is an excellent ingredient in facial and eye wrinkle cream. It has a large assortment of nutrients such as calcium, minerals and vitamins. Phytessence Wakame also contains high amounts of iron and potassium. When all of these nutrients and ingredients collaborate, the result is moisturized and hydrated skin that keeps you looking healthy and young!
3. Eyeliss: This ingredient highly targets under eye bags. Puffiness is caused by a fluid build-up that is a result of poor drainage, loss of elasticity in your skin and damaged capillaries. Eyeliss directly works to eliminate all of those mentioned symptoms that cause puffy eyes! It works to reduce how much fluid your capillaries absorb, eliminate excess fluids that cause eye puffiness, firm up the skin around your eyes and minimize inflammation. This is a powerful ingredient that is a must-have!
Refreshing Eye Wrinkle Cream: NeoStrata

Do you have a hard time relaxing before you go to bed? Getting enough sleep is important not only to your overall health, but it also helps to keep your skin looking fresh and youthful – and don’t we all want that?
I’ve recently come across a great eye wrinkle cream from the NeoStrata skin care line that helps you relax before bedtime and also reduces eye wrinkles:

NeoStrata Exuviance Intensive Eye Treatment Pads contain vitamin A to smooth and diminish eye wrinkles, vitamin E to hydrate and heal, and vitamin C to brighten and tighten the skin.
After washing your face, place one pad under or around each eye. Leave the pad in place for 10 to 30 minutes, and relax. I like to read a magazine and enjoy a cup of coffee while I wait. When the time is up, gently remove and discard the eye pads, then lightly rub the remaining solution in to the skin.
The NeoStrata skin care line also makes an effective eye wrinkle cream.
NeoStrata Eye Cream is a super hydrating cream that contains vitamin E, panthenol, gluconolactone and green tea leaf extract to moisturize the skin, improve skin tone and firmness.
This NeoStrata cream can be applied during the day under eye makeup and again at night.
Both the NeoStrata cream and the eye pads are great for soothing and hydrating tired eyes. So, if stress and lack of sleep are making your eyes look older than they really are, treat yourself to one of these relaxing eye products.
Eye Wrinkle Cream Trends for 2009

Here are some great eye wrinkle cream trends to watch for:
Trend 1: Cosmeceuticals. Cosmeceuticals are rapidly becoming the products people are paying attention to. Cosmeceuticals are a blend between cosmetics and pharmaceuticals in effort to medicinally relieve certain problem areas like under eye bags and eye wrinkles. Cosmeceuticals are on the rise due to scientific advancements in ingredients and breakthrough technologies. The new Clinique Medical line is a great example of this new approach to anti aging skin care introduced by Clinique, the maker of cosmetics and Allergan, a leader in medical aesthetics. Some cosmeceuticals like Clinique Medical are available only at a doctor’s office, while others like Perricone MD are readily available online.
Trend 2: Peptides and caffeine products are suddenly appearing. Studies are still inconclusive as to the long term benefits, but caffeine is shown to reduce bags under eyes and increase circulation while peptides are claimed to have anti-inflammatory properties to aid in adult acne and other skin conditions. Anti aging peptides will continue to be at the forefront of age reducing product lines in drugstores. One study at the World Congress of Dermatology in Paris found that a 50% reduction in eye wrinkles is possible when the skin is treated with a high concentration of peptides!
Trend 3: Topical antiseptics and anti-inflammatories. The following you will see in skin care: tea tree leaf, lavender oils, and algae extracts as they provide healing. Anti-inflammatories are on the up-rise as inflammation is what leads to so many degenerative diseases and skin conditions.
Trend 4: Skin care from the inside. With so much attention on the proven benefits of antioxidants as well as supplements are continually being developed to cater to people’s desire to eat healthier to improve their skin. Cosmetic companies are now including antioxidants, nutraceuticals, botanicals, and green tea. These are believed to penetrate the skin quickly to nourish and protect the skin. Dermalogica is one such skin care line that offers potent antioxidants in support of this trend. Some potent antioxidants that you will be hearing a lot about are: goji berry, turmeric root extract, resveratrol from grapes, and acai.
Trend 5: Probiotics. Skin care lines are using probiotics in their formulas. Probiotics refer to foods that contain the “good” bacteria that are similar to those normally found in your body – like yogurt. The companies who are adding probiotics to their products believe that it softens and exfoliates the skin. The problem is that most available research supports skin benefits when probiotics are taken internally as opposed to topically.
Be on the lookout for brands of skin care that support these trends as they are companies that are more likely to produce products that will give you optimal results.
Oil of Olay Regenerist: Product Review

A dermatologist was featured on my local news this morning talking about affordable anti aging skin care, and one of the product lines she recommended was Oil of Olay Regenerist. This line contains cleansers, day and night moisturizers, anti eye wrinkle cream, exfoliating scrubs, microdermabrasion kits and more, all with the purpose of reducing wrinkles and making the skin appear younger. I’ve tried a few of the products in the Regenerist line, so I thought I’d share my results with you.
The Oil of Olay Regenerist Night Recovery Moisturizing Treatment contains an amino-peptide complex to regenerate skin cells and promises the look of a mini-lift in the morning. I found that this night cream is better suited for someone with normal or combination skin, because I have very dry skin and it did not provide the level of moisture I need at night.
I also used the Regenerist Touch of Sun moisturizer during the day and was very pleased with my results. What I like best about it is that it contains UVA/UVB sunscreen (spf 15) and sunless tanner, so I can have a natural-looking sun-kissed glow without the skin damage and eye wrinkles that come with excessive sun exposure. Regenerist Touch of Sun could have provided more moisture, but its lightweight, non-greasy formula worked great under makeup.
My favorite product from this line is the Regenerist Eye Lifting Serum. This Olay eye wrinkle cream contains antioxidants vitamin E and green tea, which reduce eye puffiness and inflammation and fight the free radicals that cause eye wrinkles, as well as the amino-peptides that are unique to the Regenerist product line. Dab a little around the eyes in the morning and evening after washing your face, and you should see visible firming and lifting in the eye area.
Certain Oil of Olay Regenerist products may be better suited for different skin types; but overall, I believe that the Regenerist line is effective and affordable, and I recommend trying the Regenerist eye wrinkle cream for younger-looking eyes.
You Can Afford the Best Eye Wrinkle Creams

This past weekend, I went to a “Meet the Experts” event at Macy’s, where professionals from each counter presented the latest and greatest beauty products. I have to admit, some of the new anti aging products seemed pretty amazing. However, what struck me the most was the prices! You don’t have to spend $80 or more to get an effective eye wrinkle cream. In fact, some of the best eye creams are $30 or less!
For example, Philosophy makes a great eye wrinkle cream called Eye Believe.
At only $30, Eye Believe contains ingredients found in the best eye creams: Retinol (vitamin A), tocopherol (vitamin E), protective oils and peptides. The combination of these ingredients will moisturize the eye area, stimulate collagen production, and provide antioxidant protection against free radicals that cause signs of aging such as eye wrinkles.
So, don’t think that the only effective eye wrinkle creams are the most expensive ones. It’s simply not true. You CAN find an affordable eye cream that will work for you. “Eye Believe” in you!

Juice Beauty Green Apple Nutrient Eye Cream is one of the best organic eye wrinkle creams I’ve found.
It’s packed with antioxidant juice concentrates, including organic apple, carrot, cucumber and avocado, and vitamin antioxidants, such as vitamins A, C and E. These antioxidants protect against the free radicals that cause eye wrinkles and other signs of aging, and they work together to moisturize while firming the skin by stimulating collagen production. Plus, it contains some of the hottest ingredients in anti aging right now: peptides, DMAE, alpha-lipoic acid and co-enzyme Q10. The combination of these ingredients make this eye wrinkle cream a powerful wrinkle fighter.
The entire Juice Beauty skin care line, including the Juice Beauty green apple collection, is completely paraben-free and contains the highest organic content in skin care.
Here’s a video interview of Juice Beauty’s creator, Karen Behnke, in which she explains how she uses these 100% organic juice-based formulations to make skin healthier and more youthful.
